We have just had the disappointing news that our Arts Council Application has been unsuccessful for the first time in 13 years.

The feedback we have received, however, was that our application was strong. It included, as ever, a wide and expansive community programme of creative opportunities (which would be offered to National Star Centre Cheltenham, P3, St Peters and Moors, and Maggies, as in 2022), an in-person in-Cheltenham two week festival of performances, workshops and lectures, plus a rolling online programme. However, we were told demand for funds in these difficult times is extremely high and competition much greater.

We are incredibly grateful to Arts Council England for their support of the festival for 13 years. They, along with our Patrons and Sponsors, have helped us grow into the inspiring, engaging and community-building festival that, according to our feedback, is loved here in Cheltenham and all over the world.

We will be launching further fundraising activities in January and, as ever, welcome support from businesses and individuals alike.  We have exciting plans for 2023 – and if you would like to support them you are very welcome to make a donation of any size by clicking this link: https://cheltenhampoetryfestival.co.uk/how-to-support-us/

We thank you for being part of our Festival community.
